Comments from clients about their CFR lessonsReflections on a course of 6 lessons of CFR with Anne Hunt "Anne said to me 'write how you felt before and after and any other impressions.' Well, before I felt stiff and stressed and rather out of touch with my body. I have had postural problems for years and had recently gone back to another form of bodywork to try and get rid of my 'widow’s hump'. It was working slowly but I felt it was very centred on one specific part of the body (the neck) and that I was ignoring the rest of myself. CFR felt wonderful. It was as if all the parts of my body joined together and started communicating. It was very relaxing yet I felt tired for a few hours after the first sessions but I also felt tall and broad across the shoulders. I described it to a friend as feeling 'like a panther' at the end of a session, lean, co-ordinated, lithe and very at ease in my physical self. This feeling lasted quite a while and was reinforced with each session. It made me feel more positive and receptive mentally, too. One of my strongest impressions was how agreeable it feels to have your body move in ways that aren't familiar; not at all frightening and very interesting... After the six lessons, I feel invigorated, less stressed and much more coordinated." "As I was walking home in the dark (along the path) I had to concentrate on the path instead of my bones, but I was aware of an important change - it seemed much easier to walk! I felt I was putting each foot down with much less effort than before - I am often aware that I put my feet down with too much force. Yesterday it felt "just right" - natural and easy. Wow!" "On December 3rd Anne Hunt from Casa Ana came to talk to the International Club of Salobreña about CFR, a new form of therapeutic exercise that combines body AND mind actions. Of course, the best way to demonstrate the method is to have someone try it, and I was the ‘lucky’ model. To say I was skeptical that in mere minutes I would notice a marked difference in the movement of my head/neck, was a mild understatement. I have had a lifetime of neck 'cracks' (whiplash over 40 years ago) and I carry all my stress in my neck/shoulders. But in only 5 minutes of following Anne’s CFR instructions (she was demonstrating the technique to our large group) I was truly surprised by the result. My neck seemed to be floating effortlessly – with no 'cracks', no spasms and no muscle pulls. It seems such a simple thing to do – to focus on coordinating mind and body – and yet so effective! My neck never felt better." |
